What image material to submit

| Nicole Calliou | How to

We will only display on our website what our plant pathologist team agrees to be the ‘best’ image set for a pathogen, so we can maintain a high quality resource. To be more relevant to diagnostics in the lab, we are requesting that images be taken of the top of the agar plate (mandatory), but also the bottom of the agar plate (appreciated).

Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

I have an 'unknown' pathogen, can I upload an image of that?

At this time, we do not have any AI or human who is working to analyze your image submissions to give you answers for unknown identifications. Please only upload images of known pathogens.

Is it acceptable to upload images with lids on, where the pathogen is obscured by glare and/or condensation?

No, please remove the lid for taking images. We would like to collect images where the pathogen of interest is clearly visible. We do not have an AI or editor who is able to edit your submitted images.

How quickly can I expect a response after submitting an image?

Our team of experts will usually review your submission within 2 weeks.

What can I do if my submission was rejected and I do not understand why?

Please contact us via e-mail. For easier identification, please tell us your submission ID.

Can I submit images of pathogens without knowing the crop?

If you have an interesting sample of an isolate of which you are unsure about the host, you can still submit magnified images, if you can describe the pathogen and why you belive it is a valuable contribution to our database. In such case, use the submission form for isolates

Are pictures of infected plant materials also of interest?

Yes, we would like to showcase images of infected plant material as well.
